The brainchild of young British entrepreneur, Thea Green, nails inc.™ pioneered a new concept in nail care, offering women in Britain for the first time, genuinely quick, easy and affordable, high-quality, branded nail services.
In the USA and other parts of the world, it is taken for granted that women can whenever they want, at short notice, arrange for a professional manicure that won't cost them a fortune. In New York, there are busy walk-in nail bars on every corner. Yet here in the UK, in 1999, when nails inc.™ was conceived, there were only a few specialist providers of nail services - and these tended to be the sort of costly, time-consuming and 'exclusive' salons that are only really suitable for an occasional treat or for ladies with plenty of time on their hands.
Being a fashion editor, Thea Green knew only too well the difficulties and frustrations of trying to squeeze a two hour manicure appointment into a hectic 50-60 hour week (not to mention the £50 price tag) - although acutely aware of the importance of looking slick and well-groomed, their nails, like those of most busy working women, were often neglected. Identifying a glaring deficiency in the UK beauty market, Thea left her magazine career and set about the task of making professionally groomed nails, genuinely available to the majority of modern British women.
Since the opening, nails inc.™ has become the most successful and the biggest nail bar chain in the world. Although they began by opening just three nail centres, in key strategic London locations, the interest in the concept and customer demand proved to be so strong that the company quickly began to grow. nails inc.™ is now available in over 50 locations, throughout the country including outlets at such familiar and prestigious locations as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Top Shop, House of Fraser, Debenhams and John Lewis stores and their extensive product range is retailed through QVC and Boots.
At every nails inc.™ center, clients are able to choose from a full range of nail services - from a top-notch, basic manicure or pedicure to individual customised, high-glamour nail art.
One especially popular feature of nails inc.™ is their mobile manicure service, which enable women to enjoy manicure and pedicure services at home or at the office. For groups of at least five women, prices can start from as little as £20.00.
nails inc.™ has produced its own specially created range of innovative nail colours, and care products. The range includes including an ever-changing range of 70 ultra-fashionable nail colours, nail strengtheners and treatments, hand and cuticle creams, files and accessories.
In October of 2002, Thea Green, founder of nails inc.™ won the Cosmetic Executive Woman, 'Young Achiever of the Year' Award at the annual Cosmetic Executive Woman (UK) Award ceremony. This prestigious new award was designed to recognise the exceptional achievements of the beauty industry's most talented and hard-working women and pays special tribute to those who bring innovation and entrepreneurial spirit to business.
